Inspired by the grace and simplicity of the Japanese bride, Annie from Hilde stories in London curated and styled pieces from from makers and artists that she aligned with. Maibashi features in Part 1 of this editorial; by woman, for women, and specifically for two gorgeous individuals - Gwendoline & Lori.
To be involved with such an amazing group of creatives is humbling, and I am every so proud of what we can make together.
The shoot tells the story of two brides from different backgrounds, and ; their approach to wedding design & styling.
Whilst the leading visual theme is influenced by elements of the Japanese aesthetic, the finer details are solely inspired by the women’s personalities, their natural elegance and modest femininity.
The execution is intentionally unwedding-y and aims to convey a muted and earthy feel – but most of all, it aims to tell the stories of two women in two different ways (Part 1 & 2).
